Like so many of us 90s girls, Sailor Moon was my first anime love - the gateway show that led to the discovery of manga and anime and all things wonderful! I love the different brooches she gets throughout the series, particularly the heart-shaped ones. I started doodling winged hearts everywhere after I saw the Crisis Moon Compact ... and this necklace is loosely based on that, and the Eternal Moon upgrade in particular. Eternal Sailor Moon wears the colors of the rainbow and the wings of an angel. When I found this faceted heart pendant that flashes different colors, I thought it was perfect to represent her and the way that all the senshi symbols and colors combine to give her the Eternal power. Although the crystal looks blue/ green from the front, the slightest movement will start to show gold, orange, pink and violet. The wings have been repurposed from incredibly cheap earrings I found at my local craft store; while they are made of what looks like cheap tin, the design and size were perfect for this, so I removed the nasty plastic rhinestones that were badly glued around the edges and used E-6000 to attach Swarovski crystal flatbacks that flash different colors.

The chain is 2.1mm flattened sterling silver cable and closes with a lobster clasp.
